Sound Meter ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information you provide or that is generated when you use the app.

1) Information we collect

Microphone data (for measurement):
Sound Meter uses your device microphone permission to measure sound levels (decibels) for the purpose of sound measurement and evidence logs. Audio is processed on your device. We do not upload raw audio by default.

Evidence records:
Reports and related evidence records are saved on your device. They remain on your phone unless you export or share them.

Subscription status:
If you subscribe, Google Play handles billing. We only receive subscription state through the Google Play purchase flow inside the app. We do not process your payment details.

2) How we use information

We use the collected information to run sound measurement, create evidence logs, support calibration-related features, and update your subscription status inside the app.

3) Exporting / sharing

If you export or share your evidence, that action is initiated by you. Depending on the export method, your evidence may be provided to the receiving service or platform you choose.

4) Google Play (third-party services)

We rely on Google Play for app services such as subscriptions and purchase verification. Google's policies apply to those services.

5) Data storage and retention

Evidence records are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side copy of your raw audio by default. If you delete the app or clear local app data, locally stored records may be removed.

6) Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data from unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however.

7) Children's privacy

Sound Meter is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address the concern.

8) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date will be updated accordingly.
